The story of House of Kaisar begins in Mumbai.

In the early 1990s, Kaisar joined the office of the renowned architect Hafeez Contractor. It was an environment where young designers were expected to grow quickly and take responsibility early. Kaisar did. His instinct for proportion, materials, and detail soon became evident, and within just two years he was elevated to the position of Associate, an uncommon recognition at that stage of his career.

But some of the most lasting lessons came from the city itself.

Each day, walking through South Mumbai to reach the office, Kaisar passed through the historic Fort district. The grand stone buildings there, with their arches, cornices, columns, and carefully composed façades, revealed the quiet discipline of classical architecture. Their proportions felt natural, balanced, and enduring. Without consciously studying them, he began to absorb the language of architectural harmony.

At the same time, another influence surrounded him. The neighbourhoods of South Mumbai were filled with elegant Art Deco buildings featuring sweeping balconies, confident geometry, and graceful curves that carried both modernity and refinement. Living and working among them gradually developed in him a deep appreciation for this style and its sense of poised elegance.

These two worlds, classical proportion and Art Deco expression, quietly shaped his design sensibility.

Over the years that followed, Kaisar worked across a wide range of interior projects, designing residences, offices, hospitality spaces, and retail environments. Working closely with clients, craftsmen, contractors, and consultants gave him an understanding of how spaces are truly created, not only through drawings and ideas, but through materials, precision, and the skill of those who build them.

Among his clients were well known personalities from the film and creative industries, an experience that offered insight into the subtle relationship between personal taste, lifestyle, and space. It reinforced a belief that has stayed with him ever since: true luxury rarely announces itself loudly. It is felt through balance, comfort, restraint, and thoughtful detail.

As his career progressed, Kaisar moved into roles where design met large scale development. He went on to lead retail design and fit out coordination for hundreds of stores across major shopping centres, working closely with international brands and design teams to translate their identity into physical space.

Later, while working with Reliance Industries, he was entrusted with key design responsibilities at one of India's most prestigious developments, the luxury retail destination at Jio World Plaza in Mumbai. There he worked alongside global fashion houses whose standards for design and execution are among the most exacting in the world.

Decades spent observing architecture, designing interiors, and working within refined luxury environments gradually shaped a quiet conviction: the most enduring design is never driven by trend. It is guided by proportion, clarity of form, and respect for materials.

House of Kaisar grew from that conviction.

The brand approaches furniture with the same discipline that defines good architecture. Each piece begins with proportion and structure, ensuring that what lies beneath the surface is as carefully considered as what is seen. Materials are chosen for their integrity and longevity, and every element, from joinery to finish, is crafted with meticulous attention.

The intention is not to create objects that demand attention, but to create objects that belong naturally within a space.
